Although not as bad as last week so far. It's like it waited until I was nearly 8 months pregnant to ambush me. The cats are both passed out in the heat, but that's nothing special.
Anyway, here's a link to a local columnist musing about the consequences of our erstwhile cold summer. Indeed, the tomatoes have been rather lame, although the local wildlife are leaving ours alone this year so we actually get to eat some. Perhaps Dirk is earning his keep.
In other news, a mountain lion was shot and killed not far from our house early Tuesday morning. This would be a highly unusual occurrence for our neighborhood.

OMG! A mountain lion on the loose! We ate at those places and walked through those streets! Thank goodness you're okay. Up till now my main worry centered around the possibility of earthquakes, and now I have something on a whole new level to mull. Yikes!
That is very scary. Hopefully it stayed away from your house.
It was about a half-mile from our house.
Presumably this was a one-off, rather than the beginning of a cougar invasion.
